We had another fantastic time at James J. Hill Days! It was great to meet and chat with so many community members. Our train whistle giveaway, inspired by the event’s railroad theme, was a crowd favorite!

The historic Section Foreman House is being transformed into the Sandvold Lakeshore Learning Center, a vibrant lakefront space for environmental education and community connection. As part of Wayzata’s new Eco Park, the center will feature indoor and outdoor classrooms, STEAM-based learning opportunities, and exhibits on the city’s railroad history. 

Terry and Lynda Sandvold proudly served as Chairs of the American Cancer Society’s, Champions of Hope Gala in both 2024 and 2025, helping raise critical funds in the fight against cancer. Terry also serves on the CEOs Against Cancer board, lending his voice and leadership to support lifesaving research and advocacy.

From live music and logrolling to the waterski show, fireworks, and so much more, the Wayzata Chamber puts on an incredible weekend-long event. We were proud to support the Wayzata Conservancy’s Spring Splash. A community event dedicated to raising awareness for the restoration of the historic Section Foreman House. Soon to become the Sandvold Lakeshore Learning Center, this space will serve as a hub for education, environmental stewardship, and community connection along the shores of Lake Minnetonka. As Board Chair of the Conservancy, Blake Sandvold plays an active role in advancing this meaningful project and helping preserve Wayzata’s natural and historic treasures for generations to come.
